Frying fat and oil can be placed, in a closed bottle, in the container, along with the other waste.
Deze aanvulling complementeert de rest van dit artikel over afval. Het is belangrijk deze twee zaken (frituurolie en vet) specifiek te noemen omdat de praktijk leert dat dit nog wel eens in de afvoer belandt en de boel verstopt. En de gevolgen kunnen verschrikkelijk zijn.
Wanneer vet of olie in het riool belandt kan dit door het koudere water gaan stollen. Door ophoping van het gestolde vet en olie in de centrale rioolbuis neemt het risico toe van een verstopping. Hierdoor bestaat de kans dat de toiletten of putjes van de onderste verdiepingen over gaan stromen. Dat zijn nare ervaringen en hoge kosten.
Bewoners moeten zich hiervan dus goed bewust zijn en daar rekening mee houden. Stop die gebruikte olie of vet terug in de oude fles terug en deponeer deze in de vuilcontainer. Of je laat het lekker stollen en schraap het in de vuilniszak. Het beste is het duurzaam in te leveren bij het Restaurant Elixer bij Egeldonk 50. Dan wordt er biobrandstof van gemaakt en opbrengst voor een goed doel.

This addition complements the rest of this article on waste. It is important to specifically mention these two items (frying oil and grease) because practice shows that this still sometimes ends up in the drain and clogs things up. And the consequences can be dire.
When grease or oil ends up in the sewer, the colder water can cause it to solidify. Accumulation of the solidified grease and oil in the central sewer pipe increases the risk of a blockage. As a result, there is a chance that the toilets or shower drain of the lower floors will overflow. These are unpleasant experiences and high costs.
So residents should be well aware of this and take it into consideration. Put that used oil or grease back in the old bottle and deposit it in the dumpster. Or let it solidify and scrape it into the garbage bag. The best sustainable way is to bring it to Restaurant Elixer bij Egeldonk 50. Then it will be made into biofuel and proceeds to charity.
